Vintage K-22 ?
Please excuse the poor quality of the pictures.
I purchased this for $60 back in 1960 assuming it to be an older K-22.
It has a well worn parkerized finish, no model number in the crane area, 6" barrel, and a 6587XX serial number.
Barrel has "Smith & Wesson" on left, "22 LONG RIFLE CTG" on right, and "Smith & Wesson Springfield Mass. USA, Patented Feb. 06, 06, Sept. 14, 10, Dec 20, 14" on top.
Still shoots far better than I can aim (but then I just turned 80).
What do I have ?

9393,
Please check your picture posting. I would love to see that gun but the pictures didn't come through.

Welcome to the forum from another SoCalian. That definitely sounds like a 1930s era K-22 Outdoorsman. The serial number points to 1936/37 -- somewhere around there.
If the gun is parkerized now, that constitutes a refinish. These guns were available in blue when shipped, and the S&W blue of the mid 1930s was a wonderful, highly polished deep dark tone.
I'd like to see the pics, so I hope you get to the other side of your image posting problems. There's a thread in the Forum Office section that deals with photos if you need some help.

Welcome to the forum.. Boy do we need to see some pictures. Those old timers set our hearts all a twitter here.
Does it look similar to this one? It is a 39 vintage K-22 Outdoorsman.
Still shoots far better than I can aim (but then I just turned 80).
What do I have ?
I'd say you've got a durned fine attitude if you're still out there shootin' that K-22.

Yup, K-22 Outdoorsman. Nuthin' wrong with that gun. Honorable wear and tear and your Grand kids will probably be able to enjoy it too.
