Which police agencies carried K-38/Model 14?
The two I am aware of are the LAPD and the Detroit PD. Is anyone aware of any others?

back in the revolver era it was not unusual for many agencies (my brother who is a long time officer- under 100 member department) that were not big city just gave cops directivers- go buy your gun it has to be a ------(fill in the blank) specific minimum caliber or choose of this brand list.
by the 1970's most all cops carried 4 inch guns on duty, but there were probably a lot of 6 inch k38's on duty over the years.
I would guess between higher cost for the target gun and the longer barrel getting in the way in and out of cars and such that few agencies would standardize on the 6 inch k38.

New Jersey State Police carried 6" M-14's.
Theres a retired NJ Trooper who visits here..possibly he may get in on this with more info.

Alhambra, CA PD issued 6" Model 14’s in the early to mid '70’s.

Detroit PD
When did DPD carry Model 14s. The only thing I have seen come from them, department owned, was the Model 10 with 5" barrel, typically in nickle.

My uncle was issued a Model 14 as a member of the California Highway Patrol.
