Hello everyone. New member here. I was hoping somone could help me. I have a Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum Model 27. This was my father's .357 and is in mint condition. No finish wear and the bluing is mirror shiny. The grips may have a tiny bit of wear on them. This gun has an old looking gold colored box that says 5" barrel pninted on it and comes with the cleaning rod, tools, some pamplet called Helpful Hint Smith & Wesson Revolver. There is also some peice of wood shaped like a pencil but thicker that is about 6 inches long with a peice of green metal on one end. Not sure if that's part of it but it was in the box. The serial No. is S198XXX so it was made in late 1959 or early 1960. Im not sure how to measure the barrel but I masured from the tront tip to the very back of the barrel where it almost touches the cylinder - that's 6 1/2 " but Im not sure that's how you measure. The barrel measured form the tip to where the barrel starts to bulge is 5". Can someone confirm my barrell length and give me an idea of how much this one is worth. I could take some digital pics to show you also.
