I'd earlier posted about a gun an aquaintance had found looking for an ID on it. Turns out it was a 1917 hand ejector model 2. The owner had removed a bunch of parts from the inside in order to in her mind "make it safe". I'm trying to see if all the parts are accounted for and if I gun get the gun to function. I've come across parts lists for the gun, but not an assembly drawing or instruction. Is there any chance someone here has one? Many thanks in advance.
...congratulations on your find...this will give you a start...these where given to me by a fellow forum member...this is a great forum and the guys here are very helpfull...good luck...take some pictures and post them...
Try looking on Youtube. There are a lot of S&W assembly and disassembly videos there that walk you through many of these projects. Not sure if there is one for a 1917, but I would think that the internals go back the same for most HE's.
And just to be precise, your gun is a .455 Hand Ejector, second model, that probably shipped in 1916. The Model 1917 is a similar but different model that chambers a different cartridge. This was touched on in the other thread.
