Default Chiefs special airweight

I am stumped . Recently picked up an airweight that has serial number on butt and under ejector and different number on frame under cylinder yoke ( # 29 049 ) and on cylinder yoke . Serial number on butt is 103XXX .

Enlighten Me , Please !

The number on the butt is the serial number. Anything else isn't. Depending on when the revolver was made, you may find the serial number reproduced on the cylinder, barrel, and/or frame (under yoke, meaning you have to open the gun, moving the cylinder away from the frame, in order to see it). There are often more numbers on the frame and yoke. Never heard of numbers on or under the cylinder latch (that thing behind the cylinder that you push to open the gun), but maybe some PD or other organization that bought a bunch of guns might stamp numbers there.

The number on the bottom of the grip frame is the true SN, which puts your gun as being shipped in 1956. The other numbers are factory internal codes ("assembly numbers"), which appear on the frame in the yoke (crane) cutout and the yoke itself. Hope this is helpful.
