Factory letter
On average, how long is it taking Roy Jinks to compile a S&W factory letter these days? I'm sending one off in the morning and wanted to know what to expect. Years ago I remember writing Colt and sending them $100 and waiting a good six months or better to hear a reply. I think the last time I ordered one from Smith & Wesson it took between six and eight weeks to hear a reply. I was just wondering what the current turn around time is?

Last month the turnaround was fairly fast -- four weeks, something like that. But Roy has been out of the office for a few weeks, so a backload will have built up. I'd guess you might be looking at 8-9 weeks, but it could be less. (Or, unluckily, more.)
I know about impatience. I'm waiting on some letters too.

I must have gotten mine just before he took off. Only 4 weeks,
although I'd expected twice that long. Roy doesn't waste around,
he'll come thru as soon as he can. IMO, TACC1

I have been waiting just over three weeks, and I expect to wait at least another four weeks. Roy has been out of town and while he gets after them pretty quickly, there are quite a few requests I am sure. It is hard to be patient, but in this case, I will.

factory letter
Roy has been out of the country for most of October. He is pretty prompt on sending out the letters. I sent him one on September and I received it this past Saturday. Most of my letters have been around six to eight weeks depending if Roy is out of town. He is very busy attending various shows and speaking engagements. Colt has about a six month wait on letters. I know patience is a vertue and it seems like an eternity when waiting for an item you purchased.
