I just picked up a M&P 38spl. In SS, 6" barrel
Serial number 3226**. All original. Looks like from all the posts that this could be a 1920's era. the last date on the barrel is Dec, 29, 1914. I am trying to figure opout the posting pic thing. ALl info anyone can pass on is great
thanks guys

Scott

Welcome to the Forum. I believe the ship year of your .38 M & P is in the early 1920s, but this was several decades before stainless steel guns, so it is nickel or another silver finish.

To post photos, click on Post Reply under the white messages box, then Manage Attachments. A smaller window will open and you can link photos from your computer or a web site from there. Hope this is helpful.

Welcome to the forum. Sure sounds like a nickel M&P from about 1920 to me.

Yes, pics!

Welcome to the forum. If you hang around here you will most likely acquire more S&W's, and they WON'T be $20.

Really hard to tell from the pix, but it looks to me like there is NO finish on the gun. I believe it's been polished to bare metal, but I certainly could be wrong. But at $20.00, what the heck!

Default No it is finished factoy,

It has to be nickel finish as I opened it up to check for rust under the handle and it is not toooo bad. but clean upable.

I had it check by local gun store. Actually it is 2 doors down from my office. 17 range lanes and a complete gun store. indoor.

And they assumed the same thing it is Nickel.

I sent an email to S&W "Tom" and I am waiting his reply. I will post that reply here when it arrives.
