need help dating a model 36 chiefs sp
i have round butt , flat latch mod 36 with serial # 1218xx , no mod 36 stamp on hinge , was hoping for estimated value & age -thanks

Welcome to the Forum. It shipped in 1957. Its value would be determined by its cosmetic condition and barrel length. Can you post a photo?

its a snub nose ,original Finish light cylinder ring , light handling marks

Just got an excellent condition Model 36 (no dash) with 3" barrel. Serial number is 5949XX. Would be interested in its year of manufacture? I gather it is in the mid 1960's but would like a better estimate if possible.

SCSW says between 1962 (s/n 295000) and 1969 (786544). I'd guesstimate 1966-67.

Does it have a flat latch and/or large diamond around the stock screw? That will help pin it down.
