Pre Model 10 value question
I've been offered a post war, pre Model 10, in NIckel with a 6" barrel and I can't decide what I should offer to be fair to both of us. Some photo's show the nickel to have some wear but is fairly complete. Bore, lockup and timing are good. S 868141 indicates around 1947-1948 according to SCSW Pre-Model 10 entry. Anyone venture a guess? It does not have original grips and all serial numbers match.
thanks,
Stu

Personally, but sight unseen, I would be interested at about $200, assuming it seems to be shootable. Others might go more, but I wouldn't. No dealer would go that high.

Depending on whether you think the nickel can be polished out, I would say $300-350. It's a postwar transitional gun (single right frame stamping, large ejector rod end) and may be a diamond in the rough, so to speak.

Personally I wouldn't offer more than $250 - $275 for it, especially if you have to add a transfer fee.
