Default My first red box gun

During the last 30 years of enjoying gunshows I have aquired many nice revolvers, mostly N frames. I had never bought a gun in the original red box. This weekend at the Muncie In. show changed all that. Now i own one. Its a .32 cal. Regulation Police ,nickel , with a 2" barrel. Still has the helpful hints paperwork. Its serial number 612XXX which puts it around 1954-55. It was still wrapped in the knox paper and has the cleaning kit too.

Very nice. I'd like to pick up a 32 but would want it as a shooter. That one's too nice to get dirty!

First rate score. Congratulations.

Somehow I had lost track of the fact that the .32 RP was ever offered in a two-inch barrel. I shouldn't be surprised because the two inch Pre-30s (round butt) are well known.

Now I'm kinda drooling and jealous at the same time...

Very Nice!! I have always been an N-frame guy but I'm gradually getting more interested in the little guns.

I was lucky to find a Regulation Police in a red box numbered to the gun 5 yrs. ago. It dates to 1946-7 and is absolutely pristine. I guess some folks just liked to have a little popgun around for comfort.

Charlie,
Great job! Beautiful gun! It is hard not to like any S&W from that era, no matter what the frame size is!

Congratulations on the find.

Does anyone know of a place that has the helpful hints imaged? I think it would be fun to read.

That is a real beauty! What a find! Could you post a photo of the tools so we can see what an early Model of 1953 I frame correctly came with?

Very nice 32.

The M&P I just bought has the "helpful hints" paper in it too, but no other paperwork.
