1953 .22 Combat Masterpiece with sheepskin lined Heiser
Here's a c. 1953 .22 Combat Masterpiece with a wool lined Heiser model 1435 flap holster. The tip-off on the holster is the double row of stitching, indicating full lining.

Looks sort of like what Santa might have owned a few decades ago. Nice of the old boy to keep that .22 nice and warm on long Christmas flights!
What lovely specimens!
Thanks,

Absolutely fantastic.
My 'birth year' at that...sigh. I keep hoping to run across a 1953 'something' eventually.
I just 'pulled the trigger' and bought a Model 18-2 yesterday. I don't have it in hand yet. 1965 is the date of birth on it. Odd thing is, I already have a Model 18-2 from 1965, it was sheer coincidence.

I always look forward to seeing posts started by you. Your leather collection, in my opinion is second to none. Your leather knowledge might be even better. I love the flap holster and the gun is amazing too! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the offer,
But as the old story goes, I got a Model 10 for my first wife. Best trade I ever made.

The holster is custom made holster - I'll have to look to see who made it; there is a maker's stamp on the back of the holster.

Good luck in your search. I found one made by Safariland a few years ago. It says its for an L frame 6". I didn't even buy it the first time I saw it, only owning a couple of L frame guns and none in 6". Only later did I realize that a lined holster will easily hold a K and probably won't wear the finish. The next gun show the guy was back. So I walked up to him and said "you still have that thing? Whats the price now?" I got it for $20. It was used but not abused. Even a brand new one is used after the first wearing.
