Default Need some information about revolver

I have a S&W revolver that I would like to know when it was made and how much I could expect a gun dealer to offer me if I sell it.
It is a S&W 32 and the barrel says "32 long Ctg" The serial number is 7030. One of the grips is cracked and the finish is somewhat worn above the grips. I found the number 247862 on the cylinder. It says S&W Springfield, Mass USA
Thanks for any help or information.

Welcome to the Forum. This is a .32 Hand Ejector, model 1903 that was probably made in the mid-1910 decade if the 247862 is also on the bottom of the grip frame. It may have been refinished at some point. A dealer will likely only give you a fraction of its worth; if it is mechanically sound, you may get $50-75.

If the cylinder number is not 7030, as on the bottom of the grip frame, then the cylinder is a replacement, and you have a gun with mixed parts. What's the number on the bottom of the barrel ( Open the cylinder and look under the rear of the barrel). That number should be 7030, if the barrel is original. Alan's value, cited above, is probably in the ball park, if you can even get a dealer to buy the gun. He may offer you something as a trade in, however a dealer has a liability problem if he sells an old gun, like yours with mixed parts, and it malfunctions, etc. Good luck, Ed.
