i found this printing plate with what i believe is a .32 safety hamerless, 3rd. cool little piece of history!!

That is cool! Wonder what it was used for ? S&W Advertisment? Almost looks like a stamping die for a tin sign or something.

I'm guessing it was used for advertising. It's extremely detailed but don't think it's carved deep enough to stamp signs.

Well, you can always print up repro adds for this revolver since this appears to be some type of printers block, maybe the cover for the wooden block. Nice find

I have one for a 2nd Model Ladysmith. From what I've read in the journals, once obsolete, these were often given away as momentos to visitors.
