My oldest M&P
Just received two Smiths from a recent auction. This one has very little finish, but it's all matching with nice stocks. No caliber markings. Not what I normally collect, but I couldn't pass it up.

Nothing wrong with a first-year 1899. About a year or so ago, I acquired
318, which was shipped to Simmons Hardware in St Louis. A lot of
the early 1899's went there. 318 had practically no finish left, but
no scratches or dings. Dave Chicoine Jr has been refinishing it
ever since (!) - maybe some day it will get done.

Red9, that is a sweet old specimen! Congratulations on the score.
I don't imagine you will get tired of that one soon, but please let me know if you ever decide to let it move on.
