| | Mr. Shicks' pre Model 10? Gents,
This pre 10 is part of a three gun trade made yesterday. No visible turn line, but visible cylinder specs from improper side storage. SN C1422xx. Diamond magnas 4". Anyone help with closer date than 1948-52? The other two are 10-5 nickel snubs. Will post in proper forum site. They are engraved Rene Schick on backstrap. There was a Rene Schick that was President of Nicaragua in the early 60's. May need Roy to letter these three. All came from widow, alledgedly. Did not say which widow though. Only conjecture on my part.
Regards

| | The C series of numbers began in 1948. That far into the series, I'd think the gun may have been shipped in 1950-51. (But remember that S&W did not follow a policy of shipping in serial number order, so it might have left the factory later than we might expect.)

| | I have C56,000 & C58,000 from May and July of 1949. The higher number shipped first, BTW, but I assume yours at 90,000 higher went 1951-52. |

| | Hi,
Mine was shipped sometime in 1954. Very nice looking revolver. David and Saxon are correct. S&W did not ship in serial number order. If your serious about finding the date your revolver was shipped request a letter from S&W.
Good luck

| | Thanks fellas. These letters are getting costly. Hope the ROI on S&W Letterhead, signed by Roy ,holds up with price of gun.
Appreciate the "guestimates".
