.38 M and P Model 1905 4th Change Info
Hey, all. This is my 2nd post. My first was about my pre-model 18 I just picked up (thanks all who replied). When I bought this firearm .. my buddy also bought what appears to be a .38 M & P 1905 4th Change. The Serial number is K 3050XX. Can anyone please help date? Again, many thanks in advance ...

Looks like 1957.
If you got the serial number right.

Close serial numbers were all shipped in late 1957. Ed.

A K prefix gun would be either a .38 Combat Masterpiece, later the model 15 (4" barrel), or a K-38 Masterpiece/model 14 (6" barrel). A .38 M & P of this time would have a C prefix.

Hello folks, this is Keith, chrisandlinda's buddy who bought the gun. It is marked K 3050XX. It looks like a combat masterpiece but has the 4th screw in the yoke. There are no model numbers under the barrel. It does have a number 2 with a circle around it and a capital H under the barrel, it is a 4 inch. The gun does not appear to be fired, has very minor wear marks on the barrel and cylinder, apparently from being stored in a holster. I am new to this so I will figure out how to post pictures. The grips are are in like new shape. I would like to know when it was made. I bought it as a shooter.

If K3050xx is the serial number then it should be from 1957 and probably just missed being model marked a M15. It does have adjustable rear sights, right?
Sounds like a cool gun. I hope you post the pics.

Has the adjustable rear site and the top of the barrel has the ramp with grooves. If it is a 1957 model then its a shooter. Just in such good shape it will hurt for the first few hundred rounds, have had several 19s, a 14, and have a 15 and 586, but this one is in good shape.
