Default Another Roper find

OK, found another set of Ropers. I think they might be for a single shot target, but not sure, they have a very different shape where the hammer sits when the gun is cocked.

Got any ideas what they fit?

Here they are:

WOW!! Have you tried them on a pre-War I-frame? The locater pin so close to the bottom of the round butt frame is what suggests that to me. Somebody may have thought their Bekeart needed better grips...

It looks like the thumb shelf is high enough and far enough back to clear the cylinder latch. Does the single shot have that same latch location?

I officially admit those grips have me salivating here.

Of course if I had a bunch of guns I would test them out, alas I am stuck with all square K's.

Maybe I can hog them out to fit my K

Sweet, would love to have a set like that for my k-22 but most of them are out of my price range. Looks like a nice set of grips

Just send them to me and I'll confirm they fit my I-frame 22. Then since they don't fit anything you have now, I'll just take care of them until you get something to put them on... They won't have to languish around your place gun-less! Don't feel like you have to thank me, I'll just consider it a good deed!

I have never found a pair of Ropers except on guns I couldn't afford. You are on a roll.

My I frame Ropers to compare with. Mine seem to be shaped more like a standard target, your are shaped the same as the only other I frame Ropers I have seen, a pair Lee sold and posted some pics on the forum here. Yours have the awesome full checkering treatment.Nice!

Those are Screamers! I'm sure they fit all I frames up to but not including the Model of 1953 I frames. Also the Single Shot, Perfected Target and the Straightline Line Target which have no thumb latch on the left side to interfere w/grips.

These also have wood fully covering the backstrap like the Smith Extended Targets for the above guns which may be why the hammer looks as you say when cocked.

You guys are killing me here! These grips would look amazing on my HFT that just got back to me tonight with its brand new barrel. So tell me, would they cost more than I have in my whole gun, or what?

I would say value to a Roper collector would be at least $500 but could be way more since these grips made for the I frame are so few and far between, plus yours look just about like new!
