Default US Navy Victory takes on Colt Gold Cup and Wilson Combat 1911's

We had a Military Pistol shoot at the Wrentham Sportsmans club last week for 1911's/Clones and any Military Handgun. I took my 1917 S&W and a Colt Gold Cup 1911, my son took one of my U.S. Navy Victory models (38 Sp)

He likes the Victory and is in tune with it. The first 5 stages were at 25 feet and he was shooting groups that averaged 1 to 1 1/2 inches for 5 shots, he was a real deadeye. He was shooting tighter than my Gold Cup and the other 1911's
It tells me that liking the gun you are shooting and being one with the gun offsets the better sights he was shooting against.

He won one of the stages beating all the 1911's with adjustible sights!

Once he won one however, he started to get sloppy and his groups opened right out, started looking like the groups I was getting with the 1917 (horrible).

Well, he now knows he can do it. Just needs to settle down and make them 1911s squall a bit.

There's a saying that goes something like "beware the man who has only one gun... he probably knows how to shoot it!" There's a lot to be said for being one with the gun...
