Default The Court Rig & The RM

Well Boys,
Found myself goin to court here a while back, I's jest all outta sorts.

Had let a ol pard talk me out of my good holster, belt and related accessories.
Ended up wearin a mis-matched police supply house belt, an old holster of un-known origin
and an 'off brand automatic pistola'.

Well it jest didn't set right with me, had to keep my jacket on the whole time while at the courthouse.
Sumthin had to give!

I've built a BBQ rig or two for close friends and neighbors over the years...So, it's 'bout time ol Dave had a new 'Court Rig'.

Started on the leather whilst I was still in the mood, decided a 3 1/2 to four inch kinda deal would be handy.
Then low and behold along comes this here RM and falls right in to the mix.
With a few small adjustments and a sight change, all is well.

Jest sumthin 'bout new leather and an old sixgun that appeals to me.

Mostly Oak Leafs & Acorns...Ain't much on 'em olive branches

Even cobbled up a matchin cartridge pouch,

Su Amigo,
Dave

Mr. Keith you've managed to outdo yourself once again. Great court rig you built. One question though, is your belt a trouser/gunbelt, or a gunbelt only?

It's a 15-16 oz 2" gunbelt unlinded with a one inch Vogt buckle set...

Nice looking outfit Dave. Just right for court. Not too, over the top
yet dignified. Here's my rig i wore while walking the river with my
partner this sunday. Made by a fellow forum member. For 4" weapons
so today i threw my Highway Patrolman in it and off we went.
BTW, my walking partner took his Nikon and got a few good pictures
of a Bald Eagle pair thats nesting on the river we walk.

Nothing like a good piece of cowhide.

Now Keith, I don't want to get into any brush fire with you but that is NOT a BBQ rig---that is a court rig.
You know good and well that a BBQ rig has GOT to have some color and Gold and the GUN -- well, its got to be carved up real pretty and have some old Ivory or at least Stag.
Good looking court rig though.
Blessings

Yup, your right, them BBQ rigs ought to have a little contrast in color...

The solid black rig in the OP goes with my court shoes.

Geez, Dave, I wish someone would have the class to show up in MY courtroom wearing a rig like that! Tasteful, but not overdone. Subtle and, I would say, not TOO ostentatious (there's that word again). Which reminds me, I need to get you to build up a cartridge pouch to go with that belt/holster rig I got from you last year.

WYO,
My camera's deader than a hammer or I'd post a picture of the one Dave made for me.
It's fancy as a "boardin' house" madam if you know what I mean. If I get over to Laramie next week I'll stop in and show you that and the mag holder he made too.

Maybe Dave took some pictures before he mailed them to me..... hint, hint!!

Dave,

For shame, for shame! The trigger guard ain't covered. Don't you know that all the high speed tactical operators have deemed that the gun is going to go off all by it's lonesome self iffin' the trigger guard is not covered, and the first choice is some sort of nylon, plastic, or rayon.

Yeah, I don't believe that bull either!

I dunno...I tried to do a Bar-B-Que Gun one time, took all day and still never did get tender, and, being basted with Sauce all those hours, kinda messed up the Blueing too.

About 18 months back or so, someone posted about how he couldn't carry a handgun in an unsafe holster that had an uncovered trigger guard.

My favorite revolver holster was the Safariland Model 29, a high ride, butt forward thumbbreak.

Default The last annual pasture poodle shoot.

Here's livin' proof of Ol Dave and WYO doin' some long range plinkin' out at the ranch.
They'll tell you they was shootin' a 1000yds, but I don't think it was an inch more than 995 and that's a fact.

Ya see that vertical strip of white rock across the crick? Then you see the white rock off to the left about 11 o'clock of the strip? Well these two yayhoos was shootin' at a rock that you can't see between those other two rocks.
What's more they was both hittin' it plumb regular.

We had just been down the side of that hill lookin' at dinosaur tracks, and I think these fellers was havin' dreams of glory of a live one showin' up down there on the crick.
As you can see both them feller's is usin' Dave's rigs for sumthin' more than BBQ'n.
