Are the black boxes the same size for both the 5 and 6 1/2" barrels?

Yes....only a 4" or 6.5" presentation cases were made. I have some in black and some in dark blue. There is a nice write up about them.

Thanks, I thought that the case was the same for both lengths, just wan't sure. I have a pre 29 5" that I know the case isn't original to the gun but it looks to be the correct one.
