Default found a decent K38 Combat Masterpiece to shoot.

I bought a Combat Masterpiece that had been sitting in a local dealers display case for 2 weeks. Its a nice shooter grade and has a very smooth action. The stocks are replacement Targets that have been reshaped. The rear sight blade has been slightly damaged. Also came with the trigger shoe (which will come off when i get the right size screwdriver). The bluing is thin in some spots, but overall it's a nice gun. So now I'm in the hunt for a sight blade, and some comfortable shooting grips.

Serial # K 976xx...DOB??

Looks good to me! The first thing I'd change would be removing the trigger shoe....

About 1950 vintage I believe!

How damaged is the rear blade? Maybe simply rounding off the outside corners of the blade could be an option?

I kind'a like those stocks. I think for general use/shooting they would be great.

it looks as though the gun was dropped and the blade took the brunt of the damage...there's no corner to round on that side. lol

Comfort wise they're not bad at all. The teardrop shape of the cutout is neat too.
I like Ahrends Retro Targets for shooting.
