I got it cleaned up and took some pics. I apologize for the picture quality, I am a much better carpenter than photographer. The shadows on the sides aren't finish wear, just lousy photography and poor lighting.
Very, very nice! You should have no concern whatsoever that this gun is re-finished! And, it is definitely a 1902 (2nd Model). It has the barrel lug, but the barrel taper is straight clear to the frame face. These are the identifying characteristics of the 1902 no change.
Suggestion, lose the yellow filter when photographing guns.
Thanks Larry, I'd bet it has some stories for sure. I bought it at a gun shop where it was on consignment. I didn't meet the fella who consigned it, but apparently it was his mother's gun.
