Default 29-2 in the S249,990 range, with case?

A little while back I picked up a nice S prefixed 29-2 with 4 inch barrel. It is from the 1961-62 era. Would this gun have shipped in a presentation case or simply a cardbard box of some kind? Thank you.

Daniel,

410bore is most likely correct!! On a side-note, the 4-Inch Clamshell Cases are few & far between!! Just thought you might be interested!!

Daniel I have a Feb 1962 Shipped S218xxx serial # that is a 29 no dash. Yours must be one of the very earliest 29-2 stamped guns.

I think it may be an earlier one. I have to admit that my date is a best guess based on what I saw in the database. Once I get a more specific ship date then maybe I will ask the question again.

Thanks for the replies though. I have yet to post any pics of this one but want to get her cleaned up and wearing the right shoes first.
