Default Wolf & Klar

did all Wolf & Klar revolvers come with the carved steer head on the right hand grip? was it their option or a S & W option? the local gun shop has a nickel M & P 5 screw 38 special with the carved right hand grip. it might be pearl but doesn't have a real shine to it like I'm used to seeing in pearl but that might be cause it is an old gun. I didn't get it out to look at the serial number. it looked to be in pretty good shape and has a price of $1,800 on it. there is no way I can afford so I'm more curious about then anything. I kind of like the look of the grips as it looked like something I have seen on a couple of Elmer's revolvers.

Welcome to the forum,

Not all guns shipped to Wolf & Klar were outfitted by them with Steer head pearls and the grips were definitely not from S&W. In the same spirit not all Guns that wear steer heads are Wolf & Klar either.
Do a search in this forum for Wolf & Klar and hopefully you will get some education on the subject I know I did.

Dan

This third model HE .44 Special was shipped to Wolf and Klar in the first shipment of this model in January 1927. So far, it is the lowest known serial number that has survived.
