Picked up a couple of new 38/44's
I found them buried in my gun safe. Easiest buy yet.
I honestly don't remember buying them. Both were very nice 5" a pre and a post wars but for the life of me I can't remember picking them up. I checked my logs and yes I did a few years back but when I opened the cases today, I was shocked at them. I had put them down with the other 1911's and they had just been shoved to the back.
I have shot new pictures with them all but I have to dump the camera to post them.
Any of you all just lost some guns in the safes?

I haven't found any in the safe, but I swear there are several guns I used to own that I can't remember where the heck they went!

You're the kinda feller that can walk out in the bull pasture and all you find is flowers. To make it worse you come up on some roses.
Ok, I'm over my sulk.. Looking forward to the pictures.

Now that I know the potential exits, that certainly inspires me to go looking.

About 30 years ago I ran into a guy selling a Ruger semi auto 22, and I had always wanted one so I bought it. When I got it home I got into my safe and began pawing through guns trying to find a space for the new pistol, and found two, not one but two, other Ruger .22 semi autos that I already owned. I had no recollection of when or where I had bought them, and to this day I don't. Sometimes opening the safe is better than Christmas morning!

We just recently moved to a new house and during the "cleaning" out the safe project in preparation for the move i "found" a few guns i'd completely forgot about. But nothing as nice as a couple of HD's.
You are a lucky dog.

Recently I decided to check on the stockpile of magazines (M16, etc.) and opened a box full of magazines and found an almost-mint Model 28 6 inch lying on top. I do not remember buying it but I am glad I did.

Here are the HD's as of yesterday. It is hard to see them broken out since I could not get a good angle on them.

While my wife insists I have too many guns I have never owned so many that I lost track of them.

Remind me of the story with that adjustable sighted pre-war HD in the middle of the guns on the right of the photo.
Thanks,

Before I finally wised up and bought a safe, I used to stash my handguns in the rafters in the basement. I was constantly losing track of which one was where. Now that I have the safe, I know not to worry, but I still panic when I can't find the gun I'm looking for, and I don't rest until I have it in my hands.

I lost a 57-1 for about 4 years once. As it turns out, I was reaching for my Model 53-0 in its presentation case; and there were two presentation cases. One had the 57-1. A buddy picked it up and gave it to me, then I forgot I put the .41 into it.

Very nice gun and lots of fun to shoot. The trigger has been polished clean so no serrations on it. It is my "mcgivern clone".

Thanks - the sight addition looks to be very well done.

Be sure to do another show-and-tell if you find more lost sheep.
While we sympathize with your stray problem, there are so many in the herd that some may lack exercise . Please know that volunteers are indeed available.

Dyson
