Cool .38 Smith and Wesson Special CTG

Just went to my local pawn shop and my buddy who works there showed me what looks like a victory model. Only difference is that it does not say anything on the gun. The Serial number is 993115 with an S to the left of the lanyard ring. Anyone know what this revolver might be? he said it would be $188.70 out the door if I decided to go back and get it. It is not in mint condition but it is not the worst either. I would say 70%.

Sounds like a Post War Military and Police. A Victory would have a V prefix.
At that price I'd say you did real good!

Be careful. The serial number indicates an early post-war M&P, but the absence of markings might mean that everything was buffed off during a poor refinishing.

At that price it's a deal if it functions properly.

Welcome to the forum. With any Smith & Wesson, the "S" is worth $100 and the "W" is worth $100 as a starting point. With that said, anything under $200 is a steal if it shoots. Also at $200 or less, condition is removed from the equation.

Where is this Time Warp? It sounds to me like you've managed to stumble into a 20th Century store right here in the 21st Century! At those prices, I'd buy both; I would, I would!
