Question Mod 27 & Pre 27 Question on Value/Scarcity

I have both a Pre-27 (1953 5 Screw) and a Mod 27-Nothing (1960 4 Screw) both 3.5" and both missing the correct grips.
I realize that there have been many more 5 screw guns made than 4 screws based on the years of manufacture. And ?maybe? more pre Mod 27's than mod 27 & mod 27-1's. Why aren't the 4 screw & dash nothing and dash-1's not more valuable than the pre models? Or am I just picking knits?

GENERALLY speaking with S&W's and guns in general, the earlier guns have more hand fitting, and perceived higher quality. Earlier guns have been out of production longer, used longer, so nicer examples are more rarely seen than current or later production.

Actually I belive the 4 screws do bring a nice premium in the 29 and the model 27s, and as you have noted the 27s are quite rare.
