Default Pre 10 Postwar.38 M&P I think?

I have this snub-nosed S&W. How would this gun be classified? Also any idea what the value would be? I can provide more pictures if this is not enough. The serial number is S 967257 which dates it to 1946-1948 is this correct?

Looks to be a refinished M&P. If the pearls are real, they are worth as much or more than the gun. 1948.

The gun has been refinished, which affects collector value. Unfortunately, it was refinished out of compliance with S&W policy, which would have left the trigger and hammer with the original case coloring (or would have refreshed it). The nickeled hammer and trigger are evidence of an inexpensive local job.

Value as a shooter is not affected by the refinish, and there is steady demand for postwar .38 snubs. I would guess this one might be valued at $275-325. An unrefinished specimen might be valued by collectors at $425-500 depending on the amount of original finish left.

Looks like a transition M/P to, post war S serial number with pre war features, such as the single line made in USA, obviously refinished due to the trigger and hammer being nickel plated, i think it would be worth around $350.00 to maybe $400.00
