Default New Aquisition.

It is a Model 10 M&P, S/N#S857660. Finally got it, and photographed it.

Post WWII M&P, toward the end of the 2nd million. Has the improved hammerblock safety. Is a continuation of the SV line which was an improved Victory, after the war at 811XXX+ after shippng some SV frames commercially the V was dropped. S was exhausted in 1948.

Shipping dates on these postwar M&Ps are all over the map, but there is a reasonable chance that one shipped in late '46 to early '47. I know that S868055 shipped in January 1947.

Those long-action postwar M&Ps are definitely revolvers with class. The immediately following variety with the short action and speed hammer are also attractive, but in a different way. I really like the long action guns.
