Default 38/44 query

I have acquired a 38/44 HD it has a 5 in barrel, birdsbeak hammer, and a ser. num. 67XXX. The gun came with an old set of Franzite grips, and other than that it is as it came out of the box. My question is would this be a transition gun manufactured right after the war? And since I am new to the HE/HD models what would be the proper stocks for the period and possibly a suggestion for shooter stocks? Thank You for your time in responding RS

Yes, it would be considered a transition . . . and have the long hammer throw. Here's a picture with the correct post-war magna stocks.

I would appreciate knowing the full serial number so I can check it against the list of those known to have shipped to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Please send me a PM or email and I'll let you know.
