S&W .22LR Revolver 6" bbl
I have an S&W .22LR, 6 shot, 6"bbl revolver. I have no idea as to a model Number as I can't find it. Am I that dumb or is it possible that there is none on the gun? Ser#645771 on the bbl and butt. On the Frame where you would find "Mod 10" on the Model 10 there is 7305. Does that mean anything to anyone? I've had it for years and it shoots really well. Just curious...

Welcome to the forum! Your gun is a pre-model gun, S&W did not model mark the guns until 1957. Is there a letter in front of the serial number? Pictures would help to identify the gun.

With that number, it is likely a pre-war K-22 Outdoorman, circa 1934.

I believe Ed nailed it.
That 7305 would be a factory assembly number.
Pictures would be nice. We would all like to see it. Perchance the box with it?

Welcome to the forum. The K-22 Outdoorsman is a great revolver, the first .22 LR that S&W put out on their mid-size (.38 caliber) frame. It was introduced in 1931 and manufactured through the 1930s. About 17,000 of them were made. If you can post pictures, all the K-22 fanatics here would love to see them.

Does it look like this
Nope. Close but the problem is, all the ones I've seen on the site have a different rear sight. It only adjusts for elevation, not windage. I have discovered that on top of the bbl it says:
"Smith & Wesson Springfield, Mass USA"
"patented Feb 6, 06 Sept 14, 09 Dec 29, 09"
Tried to upload pix but failed miserably.

Wzrd, you have a 22 Outdoorsman. The rear sight adjusts for windage by loosening one screw and tightening the other.
Nice catch,
Tim.

I agree. That is a K22 Outdoorsman. Do you have the original grips by chance? The ones on it are definitely newer than the gun. Yours looks just like my 1938 Outdoorsman. One of the best 22LR revolvers ever made IMO, if not the best.

Well, I guess I got a K-22 Outdoorsman. Thank you gentlemen. Now, is there someplace that I can find the date of mfg via the serial nr? I tried the official S&W site but they have no way to get to this type of gun, just the military and law enforcement... Again, thanks for all the help.

serial number is on the butt, pull the grips off and you'll see it, post the number on here and one of us'll look it up for ya.
BTW when you post the serial number use "xx" for the last coupla digits

With that 645xxx serial number it is very likely to be 1933 or early 1934.
