I was visiting some family today for an annual Christmas/New Years get together and had the privilege of viewing a couple of old firearms. One of them was a nickel .32 S&W Long Ctg Hand Ejector. It was in reasonably good shape but was in need of a good cleaning and polish. I would like to know the date of manufacture so that I can pass it along to the family. The serial number on the butt is as follows:

1920, I think, plus or minus a year. I'm doing this from memory without looking anything up.

If the gun has a square butt with the serial number on the forestrap of the grip frame, it would be a .32 Regulation Police. A round butt would be a .32 Hand Ejector, third model.
