Default Pawn shop find.

Story is that this one belonged to a local and now deceased police officer. Serial number 648xx with number matching grips. No box. Got this one for $450 and walked away with a smile!

Super nice gun. Great pickup. That's a 1955 Chief Special I believe. Wow just Wow.
I can't tell from the pic, are those the smaller grips? That would make that a "Baby Chief" in nickel. Those are pretty scarce. I would have that lettered.

It's the standard J frame grip size. When the Baby Chief grew up in 1953 and got the larger egg shaped trigger guard, it lost the 5th screw in front of the trig guard and the shorter 'I' frame size grip at the same time.
