I responded to your other post. You have a commercial model 1917, from the SN of 173264 and the small S & W logo just below the cylinder latch. The 36022 is a factory internal code, not related to the SN. These are uncommon compared to the military 1917s.
In the photo of the cylinder, I think I see at least three chambers with shoulders about halfway in; this would indicate it is still chambered for .45 ACP, but the best way to check is to see if a .45 Colt will seat fully. I would guess it will not.
Since it is worn and refinished, it is not in the collector range of value. If the bore and chambers are clean (not pitted from corrosive ammo or neglect) and it functions normally, I would guess $500 or so.
