A Fine Weekend for Collecting S/W's
There wasn't a show this weekend in my area, so I decided to drive West and spend a couple of days with an old friend of mine. I knew he owned a beautiful pre model 24, it was my quest to return home with this gun. After visiting for 2 days we got down to the haggling. With the pre 24, he let go of two pre 28s, one 4" the other a 6" (which is pictured in an incorrect box) also a nib 6 1/2" 24-3.
With as much as I enjoy making shows, there is something about visiting with old friends, shaking their hand while handing them a bottle of fine Bourbon.

Something familiar about that story. Two years ago, I traded for this ANIB Model 24-3 with a longtime friend. He is a Colt's collector as well as a S&W collector. I had a Colt's 1911 National Match with fixed sights that he needed for his collection. We worked a trade for this .44 Special. We were both happy.
I love gun shows, but trading with friends is special.
