Default Victory model now mine.

I visited my mother over the Christmas holiday and was given a S&W Victory model along with other stuff that she did not want in the house anymore. It looks in original condition to me. Here are the particulars for those that keep the Victory data base.

Barrel: 4 inches
Serial: V286630 (matching numbers on butt, under the barrel, back of cylinder)
Top Strap has flaming bomb symbol and "US Property GHD"
Finish: Parkerized or equivalent, trigger and hammer is color case and ejector rod is high polish blue/black.
Stocks: plain walnut, no checkering or emblem.
Caliber: 38 S&W special.

I've been sliming down my S&W collection recently, but plan to keep this one for a while. Can anyone give me an idea on manufacture or shipping date and destination?

Thanks.

Close ser. numbers shipped in Spring 1943. Only a factory historical letter can tell you the destination. Ed.
