2" M&P with a Colorado Saddlery holster
I just bought this little Colorado Saddlery spring holster. As indicated on the back, it was made for a 2" M&P. The snap-off feature is special order. These were very popular in their day; this one was probably made in the late 1940's or 1950's.

Nice pair, John. So, with the spring opening would that one be worn cross draw by a right hander?

Just curious, but any idea when/where the inked MP 2 came to be on the holster?

That was put there by the maker. That was a common practice with many makers, particularly Heiser & Colorado Saddlery. S.D. Myres also inked or etched size information on some of their holsters. Many Heiser holsters have etched or inked information although it is often very faint & hard to read. Lawrence used stamped size codes but they frequently inked information inside the holster, usually ordered features such as a safety strap or edge lacing. Berns-Martin was another maker that penned or penciled information inside their holsters.
