NIB Model 38 Bodyguard, nickel, serial number puts it as 1958 vintage. Box, docs everything that comes when new. Box is greyish brown with S&w LOGO.

Any help with what its worth before I buy?

I would probably go as high as 600.
In todays craziness that might not get it.
That would be a sweet one to have.

Yesterday I saw a floating J model 49 NIB for $700. Of course I thought it was a little high. In my book the 1958 gun would bring a premium.

J frame prices are a little off the chart right now.

$600-$700 would be the going price right now. Alot depends on condition, box condition, matching S/Ns. A pre model # 1956-57 with box and goodies sold for $750 recently.

Then i think one like your asking about sold on the forums for $750
