Price check on .32 S&W Long Revolver
I was given this revolver by my fathers friend and it had never been shot, was all gummed up with old oil and had some oxidation where its surface was resting against loose ammo in a cloth sack. I've been offered $300.00 for this gun and wanted to know what you thought.

I'd give $300 for it in a heartbeat.

Welcome to the Forum. You can maybe double that offer if you put it up for sale here. Ed.

Thank you jsfricks. In order to comply with rules of the forum, I'll post a classified ad with a price similar to what is locally retail and include OBO.

Thank you, Ed. I'd be happy to see it go to someone that appreciated it and I could use the extra money. My interest is in target plinking and although this gun is fun, the ammo is expensive. Isn't it all these days?

Thanks to Hondo44
Okay, I found my old login info and dug up all of the excellent information that I previously requested from the wealth of knowledge from members of this forum. It was agreed that Hondo44 had the best information and it is as follows.
"Welcome to the forum! You have a little beauty in very good shape and one of my favorite Smiths ever since grandad gave me my 1st from 1913. They carry easy and shoot very accurately. They also mutiply to the risk of your financial well being.
Is that the original picture posted or are you in cahoots with my two good friends David and Froggie playing tricks on me??? Because I don't see a Mod of 1953 or a pre Mod 30....I see a last variation .32 Hand ejector Improved I frame round butt with 5 screws, ribbed barrel w/ramp frt sight and 2nd type flat latch. The improvement being a coil mainspring replacing the leaf mainspring of the post war 32 HE.
It evolved into the Mod 1953 (pre Mod 30) at c. # 614XXX so yours just missed it w/#611398 and then into the Model 30 in 1957."
