Default 1931 K22 Outdoorsman

Not sure if anyone knows if these are the grips that were offered for $3.95 as an upgrade or not. Picked this one up for $200 and I love it. Any info would be great. Thanks

Those aren't s&w grips. They look like franzite stag grips.

Aftermarket grips, but you stole the gun. With the money you have left over, you can buy any grips you need. I also have a '31 gun.

Agree on the "stole." That's a thousand dollar gun by itself, more with the box.

On the photobucket page that shows all your images, click on each image that you want to insert in your post. That takes you to a separate page. To the right of the separate image you will see some fields under the heading "Links to share this photo." Click on the one with the IMG label, which automatically copies it. Then come back to the forum where you are assembling a post and paste it into the composition box. That's what I did to make this picture show up:

You can edit your first post to add the photo links there.

That old worn out thing? Wrong grips? I won't say you were taken, but tell you what, I'll send you $225 so you won't feel so bad.

What's the #, I'm going to look at one in an auction this weekend that Roy tells me is a July 31 issue. #6377XX. Ith pictures don't look nearly as good as yours, also has aftermarket grips, and of course no box. I kind of doubt I can get it anywhere close to what you paid. You got a screaming deal.

When I saw it and the guy said he wanted $200 for it I was ready to jump out of my skin. I am fast becoming a collector of S&W and Colt revolvers.

The serial number is 6594xx. It has the silver front sight bead.

Checkered service stocks with silver medallions. These were standard in the 1930s before the introduction of the magna stocks that had "ears" that came up over the sideplate and frame.

Believe it or not those retro plastic grips have a collector's appeal all their own. Check out one of the auction sites. Use the proceeds to purchase factory stocks.
