Default Inherited 38 Special CTG

-3 1/2 in barrel
-E 8281 on bottom of grip
-38 Special CTG on left side of barrel
-The word 'SPAIN' on the handle behind the trigger guard
-Lot of writing on top of barrel describine the best cartridges and patent dates
-Worn S & W emblem with 'Trade' on top and 'Mark' on bottom on right side of gun

Jsut wondering if this is enough information to determiont the origin and date.

Welcome to the Forum.

Offhand, I would say that you have a Spanish copy of a Smith & Wesson. Good close-up pictures will help A LOT!

I agree with Gil. Its not a S&W, but a Spanish copy.

There is an article in the latest Guns & Ammo about Spanish made pistols. Very interesting.
