Default Gun Show Finds

Who says you can't find anything decent at gun shows any more?? I think I did, but may be wrong......

Well I may not be wrong but I'm not in love so that means they need to go on down the road. Thanks for the feedback guys.

Some knucklehead swapped the grips as I believe it should have diamond magnas on it, right? Why would someone do this?

Money, damage, all sorts of reasons that differ between now and then.
at the time someone may have liked rubber.

The 28 looks in great shape one thing catching my eye is that barrel pin two things I guess the finish on the frame looks real good

Love those speed hammers

Thumbs up

I'm one of the ones who never ever finds anything at a gun show but posts like yours keep me going.

Luckily some of my gun stores don't know current S&W values last time they checked must have been the 70's

Both are very nice. The finish on the 28 looks like it should be on a 27, high gloss instead of matte.

I thought about that as well. Its not a glossy as my 29 but its more glossy than my older other 28. I suppose it could have been reblued. Any way to tell? Wouldnt the expense of a quality reblue raise the cost of the gun above resale value?

Two nice prizes. That's the glossiest 28 I've seen.

First check is for a factory refinish date under the left grip. Because if it's been refinished, it's a nice job. The extractor star appears to be in the white. My Smiths from that era all have blued stars. I won't say it's wrong but I just don't recall seeing that before.

The glossy 28 has me interested as my dad used to buy them and refinish them in the 70's but I don't see any pics?
