I started a discussion last week about the pre-27 S&W .357
magnum with a 3 1/2 inch barrel and nickel plating made in
1950. A discussion of the correct grips for the first year
production guns came up. It seems the correct grips for
the first year (1950) pre model 27 is the "sharp shoulder
diamond magnas".
Well, I was playing with my K-22 Masterpiece made in 1949
this evening while watching the preseason football game
between the Broncos and the 49'ers. I happened to notice
that my K22 had these sharp shoulder diamond magnas. And
this was after two glasses of Chardonnay!
Too bad they are only K frame grips. But they are original to my
gun. Does anybody know if S&W used these grips during that
time frame on other revolvers besides the pre 27 and K22
masterpiece?
Now I know what they look like.
