Sweet, seems like it would be worth lettering to see what barrel length it started out with. Nice find you would never see something like that in most of CA, just black plastic and AR's

WOW! You hit the jackpot on that one. She's a beauty. Sometimes even if you don't know what it is, just go for it. Because now you do know what ya got and there aren't too many of those around. Clearly a factory replaced barrel. Who ever had it done sure knew what I like. Did the seller know what he had? What are the re-work dates?

Its a good chance it could have started life as a fixed sight gun. most of the transitions I have in my data base are all 71xxx except for 4 that are in the 68XXX range I do not have any in the 70XXX range.
I would like the rework date for my data base and is it a 4 1/2 or 5 measured from the cly.

Oh wow. Love the 3rds. Obviously, this is a 4" gun that received a small application of barrel stretcher. Fabulous.
