Pre War N frame Magna's
Found them at a local gun show today.Have you ever seen such a ugly worn out pair of grips? I hope its possible a forum member can use the large medallions and pat inserts out of them for a custom pair. IMG_0001.JPG

Difficult to do, but if you wanted to pay the money, they may be restorable. I'm not sure I'd try. Probably late 1939.

Cheer up----count your blessings!! You could be holding the gun they were on!
And I'll pretty much guarantee you'll find a happy home for those medallions----if you haven't already.

Those old shoes have covered a lot of ground over many years. I would not alter them if I had a well-worn N frame to wear them. Otherwise it's a salvage operation. Still, even after harvesting the medallions I would find a place for the old wood.

Now that makes perfect sense. They were too early for my Transitional. Happy ending.

[QUOTE=DWFAN;137494299]Almost anything is possible but those are pretty far gone. There are some fantastic grip makers here that could make you a beautiful pair using the hardware from those. Me, I just fix em. I'm not that talented.
DW
hope you haven't forgotten old billymaggs pre 27 grips, that need a "krack" repair DW, but those are real beautys there, mine look almost that nice, but some gorilla overtorqued the set that numbers to my little birth year gun, and I love that sense of humility bro.

As part of the deal to own these I had to take some shots of them on the gun:
I like it.

They look right at home on that old iron.
If, at some point, you decide to move 'em then I'd like to try them on a old beast of mine

No doubt.
Once I get around to getting the rear sight screw sorted the saga of the $150 Registered Magnum will be complete I think.
Then I just need to save up to buy a nice one to sit next to my shooter here.
