Pulled, the polite moderator rightly called the jack the dog heading an unacceptable advertisement. I found a way to post without heading.

Because I like this artistic and unique Smith, I reposted for those who may be interested.

That is a very unique and desirable revolver. I only hope they started with a very beat up gun, not a pristine Triple Lock. Looks like excellent quality work on the gun.

I looks like the work of an expert.

As to whether it was beat up or it was pristine before the modifications, it's all moot now.

What a nice gun, someone did a great job re-doing an old war horse. There are some nice touches here and a super job on the bluing. Even used a nice chunk of wood, Larry

I won one of Mark's other auctions last night and when I spoke with him this morning ,I asked about this very gun. He was unaware of the history of who, what and where as to who did the work, but said it came from a collector who he has done a fair amount of business with and that it had been in that collection for many, many years. He said it felt very good in hand and it would appear to me to be so. All of us with gray hair{or no hair} remember when those n-frame Smiths and Colt New Services were "cheap" and alot of neat custom and semi-custom large bore "combat" modifications were way more common than cutting up a "collectible" today. Also there were no Lew Horton 3in barrelled 24's and no 3in. 29's 625's and all the other factory modifications available in the more recent past and now, heck I still can see the red Shooting Times cover when Skeeter introduced the snub Model 19 in the late 60's. All my best, Joe.
