32 S & W Kit Gun 3 1/4 inch
Hi
I have had this Regulation Police 32 laying around for a few years and I decided
I needed a 32 Cal Kit gun. I Have a good friend who is a good gunsmith so I took
him the 32 and a J frame rear sight and this is what he put together.
Jim Fisher.

That's awfully close to what I have had in mind for about the last year and a half or more. A 32 Kit Gun is just so much more cool than the Target Model or the plain old Regulation Police. What's not to like? Let us know how it handles at the range.

Jim,
What a sweetheart! Nice work and he sure got the front blade factory looking. If it had a pre war rear site, it would look original. I broke down and did something similar to a 30-1, 4" as a companion to my 22/32 J frame Kit Gun. Also reamed it to 32 H&R Mag.

There's an article in Handloader Digest 12th edition by a guy named David Ward. In it he describes taking his M-31 to his gunsmith and having a set of M-34 sights installed to make his version of the perfect kit gun, and a bunch of load data to go with it. It is a good read.

RANGE REPORT 32 KIT GUN
Hi
got out to shoot my new 32 Kit Gun.
shoots pretty good but I have to get a bead rear sight insert or make one
the rear blade is a Square notch and the front is a narrow blade.

.32 "Kit Gun"
Super idea Mr. Fisher, I'm thinking there is likely a bunch of us who also want one. I saw a factory version from a later era a couple years ago at a local show but the price was high and out of line in my opinion, now I'm not so sure.

Lookin' good Jim, looking' real good. I have to agree, though... those narrow front blades just don't get it for eyes on the far side of 50 or so. I found a couple of NOS Marble's™ blades with the "gold bead" that I will be putting on my 6" HFT and my 6" Reg Police Target in 32. That little skinny blade just seems to disappear out there!
I've got a late pre-War RP that has already been rebarreled and is only in nice shooter grade cosmetically. I'm thinking it would be a good one to use to copy what you've done, and with a set of J-frame adjustables I've got layin' around here, a Call™ bead up on the front blade, and maybe a pair of J-frame target stocks, I could have the sweetest little 32 Kit Gun in all the Virginias (that's West, North, and Real!!) Glad to see yours came out so well, 'cause that encourages me to do the same.
Regards,
Froggie

What Hondo44 said! I've been through C'ville a couple of times lately, but I was "flying low." I'm planning on going that way toward the end of next week though, so I'll drop you a PM if it looks like I'll be able to land briefly as I pass through.
Regards,
Froggie
