Fantastic. Now maybe there's hope for finding a 16-1?

Just ask Weatherby. Paul has probably hung up on her thinking who was that crazy women?
I hope she calls you someday and gives you hell

I was almost tempted today, I went to our local gun show. Wow. I was like the only customer. Everyone must think everything's ok now that the election is over. But back to the story: I saw one model 28 no dash, which had been "rode hard and put away wet". It looked all original, but the guy wanted $575 for it, and I wasn't even going to do anything like that. Actually, I was so depressed at the lack of turnout that I didn't spend a dime. Didn't even buy any jerky or fudge. Even the tee shirt kiosk didn't show up. I'll be interested to see some of the new tee shirt slogans now that the election is over.

Best regards, Les

Now this is BAD juju. Les is the caretaker of forlorn 28s and he left this one behind? First Trump now this. I was happily amazed at the Trump result, but Les abandoning a 28 that needs attention? That's just too much!!

I did the same this morning. Went to the show across town in Pasadena. There was some people there, but nowhere near the number we had just before the election. I do believe the election results are part of that. Lots of S&W revolvers but almost all of them WAY overpriced. The only two things I saw that I gave thought to were a nice little Damascus knife with a good thick spine and a SA Range Officer Operator in 9mm. At $879+tax I can do better online, and I am not a big fan of the white dot Novak style rear sight on them. I would prefer one that is plain black. I ended up not getting anything also.

Wow, Billy, I hadn't thought of it in quite that light!! This one would have tempted me if it had been in a little better condition. I might stop by and take another look tomorrow. I doubt that any one will have snatched it up. This would be an all winter project!!

Best Regards, Les

I was hoping Mick would see this and respond. As I recall (can't find the original thread), he did get a letter that confirmed it was a Model 28-1. The gun was sold shortly later at auction.

I don't recall the exact number, Mike. It was between $3000 and $3500, IIRC. I do remember a lot of folks thought it would sell for more than that.

I believe the person that bought it is a member of The Forum. I hope they see the thread and respond.

I pointed it out as it is unusual to see that on that model from the factory.

All is well now. Went a little nuts when Barbara passed away but now after 3 years, got it back together. Have just one Highway Patrolman now, a 4" 28 no dash (and a 27-2 6"). HPs and the 28 line of S&Ws still hold a special place in my heart but now have other interests that take up my time ,,,
