Pre 24 .44 Spl Guessing game
This Pre 24 .44 SPL was sold today at an online auction. Take your best guess as to what it brought INCLUDING the 20% buyers fee. No fair guessing if you saw the auction results. I will post the winning amount later today. This ought to be fun.

I'll be the contrarian and say $650. Worn finish, big ugly grips - who wants that?

Well, it seems to me it has no unusual features like an unusual barrel length, etc. I would guess the hammer and trigger are replacements. The stocks are not correct. The finish looks like it has quite a bit of wear and handling marks. I would think it should sell for about $750 ($900 total). However, given how guns often go through the roof these days, and the fact that you have posted this guessing game, I assume it sold for far more than we would expect. Either that or it sold for far less but that rarely happens any more. So I will guess $2400 ($2880 total).

In addition the points already made, there is something odd looking about the proportions. Is the photo taken from a slightly weird angle? The front sight looks too high, and the barrel looks ... odd somehow, but I am not sure I can describe why it does not look right. Almost too skinny at the muzzle, and like it is fading away from the camera, making it look almost bent or curved. I am sure that's an optical illusion.

In line with the craziness I've seen lately - I'd say $1932.57.

Here ya go....It brought $2000 plus 20% making the total $2400. I thought it may bring HALF that amount. Thanks for all the guesses and comments.

Hard to believe! Mine looks way better than and mine is only about a 95% gun. And those grips are just butt ugly.

That is absolutely unbelievable for a gun with awful stocks and what looks like pitting.
Crazy things happen two people have to have something.

I've seen a few bullseye shooter's guns that had some of the butt ugliest grips I ever saw, and some of those shooters rarely dropped a shot out of the ten-ring....

The grips: Yeah, ugly is as ugly does. But if I paid that much for that revolver, I would hope that soon after, I'd be the guest of honor at an intervention, followed by a long in-patient program. Didn't anyone listen to Wavy Gravy's warning?

Being a NRA Bullseye Pistol shooter starting in the mid 1960's I think that revolver is set up and was used a fair amount for Bullseye shooting.
My price guess would have been around $1500.00 US.

Get use to seeing some crazy prices. I have feeling we're just at the beginning of see many Smith & Wesson prices doing what Colt Snake guns prices have done the last couple of years.

Boy, this auction result makes me look like a genius for paying about $900 for this gun a year ago.... ......I suppose that bidder would have bid $3500 on this gun.....
