OK

I do this reluctantly........but somewhat gloatishly.......and feeling lucky

By the time I ship and pay my FFL the transfer fee.................$310

Remember when people would breath on their fingernails and then buff them
on their chest?

If the answer is yes..........well........you already know.......

I'm a firm believer that a guy ought to get a new gun every once in a while.

Nice M&P!!

Just returned from vacation and as many of you know that when one comes back from vacation funds are a little low. So of course I run right into a very nice victory model. Had to have it!

Question Birthyear Gun?

So I am getting curious about approximate shipping date for C 17758*.

I search "C-Series".

I thought the C series went up until model marking, found out the
it dates to 1948 to 1951.

Birth year is 1950.

Can anyone narrow the probable ship date to a specific year?

Thanks Ahead

John

C196588 of mine shipped Sept 1951 according to my letter. Hope that helps to narrow things down.

Well, as far as the serial number we are definitely close.

If logic held, my gun would have been earlier in 51.

Only the letter knows I guess,

Thank You

I would think that confirms a 1951 date.

Thanks for perfect bracketing.

That's how Naval gunfire is adjusted

Nice snag, gaucho. Those dark gray medallions suggest they may be made of plastic rather than metal. This was done, I believe, during the early Korean War period, for reasons that don't make much sense to me now. Anyway, if that's what they are, do not clean them with acetone; they will melt. Don't ask me how I know that. -S2

Fortunately, it does not look like a candidate for grip refinish.

I always wondered how to tell if the medallions were plastic.

I don't think you are alone with the heartache of disappearing parts
